Baby Business – 1 Year Edition

Holy poop on a stick!  Laney is 1 year old.  I can’t believe it.  (Actually, as I write this, she’s 13 months old, which is even holy poopier!) 

Laney visited the doctor last week and she’s offically been catagorized as a “toddler.”  That’s right.  She’s no longer a baby according to “The Man.”  I think that means I need to change the name of these posts going forward.  If you have any suggestions, be sure to let me know.  (Toddler Tidbits?)

Well on to the important stuff.  I know a lot of you have money riding on Laney’s numbers, so let’s get to it.  Laney is now 24.8 lbs. (90%) and 30 1/2 inches (90%) tall.  As you can see her percentages have been coming down in these categories, so at least she’s on the chart again.  Woo hoo!  But don’t you worry!  My little girl still excels at head size.  That’s right.  With 19 inches around (>97%) Laney is still off the charts!  Well what do you expect?  There’s a lot of brain up there.

What’s she doing with that huge brain of hers?  She’s dreaming up new ways to torture the dog.  She’s trying to figure out how to climb the stairs… on the outside.  She’s playing the piano and anything else that makes noise.  She’s working on solving the current economic crisis.  And she’s using daddy’s laptop any chance she can get her little hands on it.  (If you recieve a email filled with gibberish from me in the next for months it’s either Laney or the Conficker virus.  Either way, I’m sorry.)

In addition, Laney is walking all over the place.   She just won’t sit still.  She’s walked across the room and back on several occasions and looks like a little old lady toddling along.  It’s very amusing to see.  Less amusing are all of the bumps, bruises and scrapes Laney has accumulated as she toddles everywhere.  Sam was very concerned that the doctor was going to report us to Child Protective Services after the last visit.

Well that’s it for now.  I know I am way behind on photos and video from her birthday, so I’ll try to get to that as soon as I can.  We hope everyone is well and we’ll talk soon.

Laney hit the big oh-en-ee just a few weeks ago and she been going nonstop ever since.  Oy, how time flies.   They grow up so fast.
